We are thrilled to share the exciting day that the Project SEARCH interns from Mary Washington Hospital recently experienced! As part of their internship program, these dedicated individuals were given the opportunity to step away from their usual routines and embark on a day of travel training and community leisure activities.
With the support of Stafford County Teachers and RSVP, Inc. Skills Trainer, our interns delved into the world of travel training aboard the Fred bus in Fredericksburg. Guided by experienced professionals, they honed their skills in navigating public transportation, gaining invaluable independence and confidence along the way.
But the adventure didn’t stop there! The highlight of the day was when the interns journeyed over to the Fredericksburg Nationals stadium to partake in America’s favorite pastime: baseball. Witnessing the game unfold before their eyes, they immersed themselves in the excitement of the sport. What made this experience even more special was that the Fredericksburg Nationals were hosting their annual Education Day. This event incorporated educational experiences throughout the baseball game, providing educational materials and activities for attendees.
At Project SEARCH, we believe in the motto “work hard, play hard,” and our interns truly embodied this spirit throughout the day. After dedicating themselves to their internships at Mary Washington Hospital, they deserved this well-earned break to indulge in some leisure activities and create lasting memories with their peers.
