Emily Huber’s Bio
I am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Master of Science in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling in 2019. I completed coursework in Case Management, Disability, Counseling Techniques, Motivational Interviewing, Life Care Planning, and Play Therapy. I spent over five years as an Employment Specialist and Skills Trainer, helping individuals of various abilities secure competitive employment. I have extensive experience with adults (ages 18-65) in the following areas: Traumatic Brain Injury, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Attention Deficit Disorders, Cognitive Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, Developmental Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Autism, Communication Disorders, and Hearing Impairments.
I believe in a person-centered, therapeutic approach to providing a safe space for clients to participate in therapy. I view each client as a unique individual, and work hard to build a custom-tailored roadmap free from constraints created by labels related to diagnosis or condition. My aim with each client is to develop a therapeutic alliance grounded in warmth, empathy, and trust in a way that invites collaboration and fosters individual empowerment.
Individual Psychotherapy / Clinical Counseling
The consumer meets one-on-one with RSVP, Inc.’s Licensed Professional Counselor, Emily Huber, to work through the challenges that people face in every day life. The consumer will learn and begin utilizing strategies throughout this process that can be applied to various aspects of their lives, such as work and social settings. Group Psychotherapy / Group Clinical Counseling Services
Group services consist of a small number of individuals with similar goals they are working towards in their lives. RSVP, Inc.’s Licensed Professional Counselor, Emily Huber, provides structure for each meeting, while the group members learn and support each other throughout the process. Group members can offer a variety of perspectives on a topic or situation, allowing each member to feel a sense of community. These sessions last an hour in length and are offered in-person at the RSVP, Inc. office or virtually via Zoom.
