Virginia Secretary of Health and Human Resources, Dr. Daniel Carey, visited the Project SEARCH site at Mary Washington Healthcare on September 25, 2019. During his visit, he met with interns in the following departments: Quality and Patient Safety, Pharmacy, Food Services, and Pathology Lab.
Each of these interns are in the first of three 10-week internship rotations. The goal of Project SEARCH is to provide high school students in their last year of eligibility with a training program that teaches employment skills to help them secure competitive employment in their community.
This is a collaboration between RSVP, Inc., Stafford County Public Schools, Mary Washington Healthcare, and the Virginia Department for Aging & Rehabilitative Services (DARS). This is the third year that Mary Washington Healthcare has hosted the Project SEARCH program, and we are excited to see that it has caught the attention of Secretary Carey!
